"Valerie"

It's kind of hard to make out the words in this video, but I still love this song and Steve Winwood.

"So wild, standing there, with her hands in her hair
I can’t help remember just where she touched me"

Your Catholic school girl's facade is beginning to crumble, Val.

ummm, by the way: just where DID you touch him?

I learned early that Steve Winwood music is great to make out to. We're talking Sade kind of good.

Kevin - I enjoy this song for the melody, not necessarily ALL of the lyrics. Ahem. And, I've never touched Steve. Just ask my hubby. . .

BWH - I don't know what you're even talking about cuz I never did that - I'm a good Catholic girl. I do like Sade, too!

Jodi - I'm not sure if there is a song named after you. I know of two other ones with my name in it - "Valerie" by the Beatles, and another one that goes "Valerie, Valera, Valerie, Valerah-ah-ah-ah" (I forget the real name of that song, though).

Bigwhitehat.. make out music? I don't think anyone in my generation would come near me if I played Steve Winwood.

HB, I only have four years on you. In 1987 all Steve Winwood was considered make out music. I guess you were too busy with Bon Jovi to figure that out.

I particularly love the closing line of every refrain:

"I'm the same boy I used to be."

We'd all love to believe that, no matter how much time has passed.
