RACISM, AGAIN

I read a post this morning at Echotig's blog (www.echotig.blogspot.com) entitled "Exterminate White People?". Echotig discussed an article which she had read on World Net Daily, located at http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=46973. Carol at www.thegraytie.com, also made reference to this article in her 'Round the Reader post, and she links it to Michelle Malkin's place.

Okay, so if that wasn't enough to get my blood pressure going sky high on an otherwise beautiful Sunday morning, I find this article on Drudge Report about California teenage twins who belong to the White Nationalist Movement: http://abcnews.go.com/Primetime/story?id=1231684&page=1 .

I have said this before, but I will say it again.

Racism exists due to fear, ignorance, and/or malicious (evil) intent. My family has experienced it at all three levels. When I read stuff like this, it angers me to no end. The first article deals with guy who believes that exterminating white people will solve the problem, the second article deals with the upcoming generation who have been brainwashed to believe that the white race is supreme. Both of these views are based on EVIL opinions about other races.

In order for there to be constructive advancements in getting rid of racism, there needs to be steps taken to ensure that this kind of propaganda isn't spread any more. But, when the guy in the first article is a so-called college professor, and the kids in the second article are getting their lessons at their mother's knee - it gives me very little hope of racism being eradicated in the very near future.

God help us all.

I saw that article with those poor little girls, Prussian Blue. I am a bit peeved that they are taking a name that means something to me. I have Prussian ancestry. And I couldn't disagree more with their ridiculous message. You'd think common sense would eventually prevail, bur racism has always been a problem, and may well always be. In the mean time, how do we make it better? How do I keep from getting judged on the color of my skin when they don't know whats in my heart? I think all I can do is not be racist and teach my own children not to be either.

I'm with Gayla. And I'm not sure I would have given them the free plug, either.

But...that said...I try to remember all the millions of us that still follow the golden rule despite all the evil in the world.

Tyra: Yes, the fight does need to continue, and as long as I live, I will work hard against the forces which continue to spread this kind of hate.

Echotig: I can see why you'd be peeved! I agree wholeheartedly with teaching our kids not to be racist! I think that is what upset me most about these girls - how her parents are teaching them to be this way.

Gayla: What I was trying to say was that these two examples weren't based on fear and ignorance, rather they were based on the last reason - evil intent. Thank you for your support and prayers!

Julie: Yes, there are so many out there who do follow the Golden Rule - and that is what I've tried to instill in the my kids, even if they are the victims of racism. It's difficult to "turn the other cheek", but they must learn how to do that to survive in this world and to find eternal joy in the next.

Oh I saw a thing about those twins on tv the other night. I was greatly disturbed. I never realized such racism still existed today!

My husband's got Prussian ancestry too, but there is not one ounce of racist in him. We teach our kids. All blood is red. It doesn't matter what colour your skin is. People are people, and all are precious in His sight.

Valerie, it is sickening, I agree. But we must consider who the father is of racism. It absolutely is ugly and mean because the father of it is pure Evil. One day he will get his just desserts and we won't be plagued with it any longer. Try not to get under your skin because that is only feeding Satan what he desires and we can't let him get any fatter, eh?

I like your righteous anger, it's good to believe in truth and to stand for it.

I watched a Fox News video about the twins this afternoon. To me, alot of it appears to be caused by bad parenting. It's sad that parents are bringing their children up to think this way.

Boy, that shows the bad side of homeschooling. If these girls went to school with children who were different, they'd become more tolerant.
Racism is scary, in whatever form. It treats people as objects, similar to pornography, doesn't it?
When you start putting yourself above other people like that, you're blinding yourself to a lot of the richness the world has to offer.
But I do agree with you, people sometimes come by these view through ignorance and fear. And a person who's bent inside can turn it further, to evil.
I think the New Testament has the answer to these problems, if people come to it with open hearts.
